Harrison County Rural Electric Cooperative is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Journeyman Lineman or Apprentice Lineman.
Qualified applicants must possess a valid class A, commercial driver’s license (CDL), have completed a formal certified journeyman lineman training program or at minimum an electric line worker school. Applicants must be able to demonstrate the skills and proficiency necessary to perform the duties required of the position. A clean driving record is required.
Harrison County REC will offer an apprenticeship program required for applicable apprenticeship candidates. Applicants must possess a thorough knowledge of electrical safety procedures and OSHA requirements. Familiarity with the operation of both digger derricks and basket trucks is desired.
Familiarity with electric distribution systems is essential and previous electric cooperative experience is preferred.
All applicants must be willing and able to work nights and weekends when necessary. Standby (on-call) duty is also a requirement. Requirements include a residency within 20 minutes from the Woodbine headquarters facility.
The successful applicant must pass a pre-employment post offer physical exam and drug/alcohol screening. Background checks including personal references, criminal history, and driving records will also be conducted. Harrison County REC does have a random drug testing policy.
