Prairie Winds — Energy in Motion
Harrison County Rural Electric Cooperative (HCREC) offers Wind Energy through our primary power supplier, Northwest Iowa Power Cooperative (NIPCO). NIPCO has a relationship with their primary power supplier, Basin Electric Power Cooperative to support Green Energy production to their members.

Harrison County Rural Electric Cooperative began offering the Prairie Winds green energy program in 2002. It allows our members to voluntarily contribute to the development of alternate energy production facilities such as wind energy. You are not purchasing this alternate power directly, but participating in the development of the power.

Your fee for each block of 100-kilowatt hours is $.20. If you are interested in participating in this program complete the information below and return it to our office. You will be committed for a one-year term and then continue on an annual basis, allowing you to make changes in your commitment by your number of blocks or if you wish to discontinue the program.
